It's all about potential

In fact, uncovering and realising the incredible potential that lies in every unique human being is what drives all of my work.

So much of what we could do is constrained by what we think we should do.  So much of what we could think, and even how we are, is constrained by what we think others will think of us. Imagine the potential if we could move beyond all of that. If we could all think in ways that are truly independent and individual, and create the conditions for those around us to do the same.

In all of my work, I strive to create exactly those conditions, and teach others to do the same.  The potential I have seen achieved by individuals through coaching, and in teams adopting this way of being with each other, is awe inspiring.

While I bring all of my experience to my work, everything that I do is based on the foundational principles and practices of the Thinking Environment, the work of Nancy Kline and Time to Think

What’s a Thinking Environment?

The Thinking Environment is based on two key observations.  Firstly:

The quality of everything that we do, depends on the quality of the Thinking that we do first.

Take a moment to think about that.  Does it ring true for you?  It certainly works for me - I've lost count of the poor decisions, badly handled conversations, and general situations that could have gone better, simply because I didn't allow myself the time to really think well first.

And the second observation:

The quality of our thinking depends on how we are treated when we are thinking.

The Thinking Environment is a set of ten core conditions (the Ten Components) which need to be present in order for us to think really well.  Ten ways of behaving with each other, which work together as a system to create the conditions in which we think at our very best.

There are of course specific practical applications which have these principles at their heart that I use throughout all of my work, and you will learn if you attend any of my courses.

If you would like to have a chat over a cuppa and find out more, I'd love to hear from you.
